Japanese Black Ink Painting for Beginners

Book your place for a One-Day Japanese Black Ink Painting One-Day Workshop for beginners at the beautiful Brú Ború Cultural Centre beside the historic Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary, Ireland on the 26th of February (Book Here).

Sumi-e is the Japanese word for the Art of Black Ink Painting. It is a unique art form in which the fewest possible strokes are used to capture the essence of the subject being painted using only black ink, handmade paper and a special brush.

In this Workshop for beginners, participants will be introduced to Sumi-e materials and will learn basic brushstrokes and techniques used for painting grasses, flowers, distant trees and mountains.
